Lately I've posted mostly photos of my travels, but little of my daily life in China. I'm packing up to leave on summer holiday, so I wanted to leave you with 31 days of posts that paint a picture of what it's like to live in China and what my current life is like. If you want to join in the sharing I'd love it if you would place a link in the comments back to your post. I hope you enjoy and have a great summer!
As much as I've traveled recently, I think it's pretty normal to bring things back with you from vacation. That way you'll always remember your trip long after you've unpacked your suitcase. I enjoy bringing home a variety of things. Some type of local art is always catching my eye. And I'm really big on practical items. I love buying them, I love gifting them.
So I imagine that reason is why I ended up collecting bowls everywhere I go. I never was particularly on the look out of them, but who can't use another bowl? I love that the styles, shapes and designs are all important in the local culture. So far, I haven't run out of space, but I'm not really sure how I'll get them all home eventually.
Here are a few of the bowls I've picked up:
Tea cups from HoiAn, Vietnam:
Wooden Bowl from Siem Reap, Cambodia:
Celadon bowl from Beijing, China
Polish Pottery from New Glarus, WI
What do you like to buy on vacation?
