Lately I've posted mostly photos of my travels, but little of my daily life in China. I'm packing up to leave on summer holiday, so I wanted to leave you with 31 days of posts that paint a picture of what it's like to live in China and what my current life is like. If you want to join in the sharing I'd love it if you would place a link in the comments back to your post. I hope you enjoy and have a great summer!

I am a big fan of accessories. Shoes, handbags, scarves and jewelry are things that I can never get enough of. I typically wear black or neutral colors so I love having vibrant accessories to bring my outfit to life. I also love to eat and I don't obsess about my weight, which means it fluctuates (and I'm totally okay with that!). So, accessories are worth the splurge for me because I can wear them no matter what size I am.
Living in China I walk a lot! Comfortable shoes are essential. The streets here are never smooth and I trip on the uneven bricks, asphalt, cement, etc., frequently. I've never been crazy about wearing tennis shoes though and I often opt for sandals in the summer or boots in the winter. Pretty much every shoe I own is made from leather. I'd rather pay more for a shoe that I will wear out, than suffer because my feet pinch and hurt. The leather forms to my feet and I'm always comfortable all day.
Last summer when I was in the states on holiday I had a major shopping haul to purchase everything I'd need for the next year, clothes, shoes, beauty products, you name it and I bought it. While shopping with my youngest sister, who is also a shoe lover, I spotted these Tory Burch wedges (on sale!) and I couldn't resist trying them on.
They are definitely far from practical wandering around the streets in China, but as soon as I put them on my feet, it was like magic! I had to own them. Of course, with limited suitcase space, cash and practical reasons, I didn't buy them right away. I think I visited them in the store at least three times over the next few days until I realized it was no use, it was inevitable that I would buy them.
I can honestly say that I do not regret that decision for a minute. They are so comfortable and the quality is fantastic. I wear them all the time either to work or going out with friends. They not only look great, but they make me feel great as well. Wherever I go, these shoes are going with me.
What are your favorite shoes or best splurge worthy purchase?
