Living in the Chicagoland area, we make a point to visit the sites in and around Chicago as often as we can. Why? Because stay-cations are fun and pocket friendly. Also, we want to take advantage of the many sites the area has to offer while we still live close enough for the opportunity.
These are the adventures we've taken over the past six years:
- Art Institute of Chicago
- Architectural Boat Tour
- Millennium Park
- Cloud Gate (Bean)
- Shedd Aquarium
- Field Museum
- Adler Planetarium
- Chicago History Museum
- Chicago Double Decker Bus Tour
- Navy Pier
- Shopping on Michigan Avenue
- Eataly
- Christkindlmarket
- See a Show at the Lookingglass Theatre
- John Hancock Tower Observation Deck
- The Signature Room at the 95th (Hancock Tower)
- Bears Games at Soldier Field
- Cubs Games at Wrigley Field
- Wrigley Field Rooftops
- Chicago Fire Soccer Game
- Chicago Bulls Game
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- Brookfield Zoo
- Oriental Theatre to see The Addams Family
- Buckingham Fountain
- Ice Skating at Millennium Park
- Stroll Along the Lake Front
- Chicago Botanic Gardens
What do you love most about Chicago?
I would love to visit Chicago one day, especially as a fan of ER and Ferris Bueller! My brother went twice (about ten years ago) and raved about it.

I'm glad your brother enjoyed it! I think it's fun to visit locations of favorite movie scenes when traveling. We just visited the park in Boston last May from Good Will Hunting and it was so much fun!
