Holiday Wish List

Every year around the holidays my family requests a list of gift ideas from me. This year I won't be celebrating the holidays in the traditional way, but I love (window) shopping and compiled this list of gifts that I would love to give or receive this year.

Which items are you gifting or hoping to receive this year?

Fall Shopping Craves

I love shopping, even if it only means window shopping. I love the inspiration in the shop windows or store displays whether it's on the street or online. Every season brings a fresh new outlook to my already tired wardrobe with an influx of new colors and designs.

Living in China I haven't had the opportunity to shop the way I normally do. The markets are all poor quality knockoffs, the stores at the mall are very expensive and my body is very large in proportion to Chinese women so the clothing sizes just don't fit quite right. I can't really buy anything online. The Chinese online shops are all in Mandarin, which I can't read. Plus, if I have my family order for me back home, they have to pay a huge shipping cost to get it to me. Not to mention I have to depend on someone else to ship something to me and wait for the package to make it through customs which can take weeks or months.

Regardless, here are a few things I am craving for fall.

Thinking Spring

I don't know about you, but I've had more than I can take of the cold temperatures and snowy forecast. We are now in March and I have spring on my mind even if there is several feet of snow still piled up in my yard right now. I'm inspired by pinks and pastels and floral prints to put me in the mood for warmer weather.

Here are a few things I am loving right now:

Spring 2014 Things I Love

For years now I've maintained a gift folder that contains ideas of items I would like to receive from my husband, whether they are pages I tear out of a magazine or a list with links that I email to him. This takes a little pressure off him and even if he strays from the list, he at least has a clue as to what's on my mind. I try to refresh the list regularly throughout the year. That way he has plenty of options to choose from for any gift giving occasions or in case he wants to surprise me with something out of the blue (which he actually does from time to time!).

With Valentine's Day approaching and my birthday just around the corner in March, I thought I would help him out a little bit since I left him hanging at Christmas (although he did quite well on his own as you can see here).

The one thing I would really love to receive this year is a trip, however with my packed school schedule the next few months I know that's not in the cards for now. So, I would happily accept any of the items below.
